Gonzalo Lopez Advances in Neuroblastoma Research Congress 2016

Gonzalo Lopez

Gonzalo Lopez is a scientist in the laboratory of John Maris, MD. The aim of his work is to gain a better understanding of the heterogeneity of high risk Neuroblastoma (NB) pathogenesis with the goal of contributing in the design of future precision medicine strategies. To this end, he works in the integration of multiple types of data (Gene expression, Copy Number, Methylation, NGS and clinical data) into a system biology network based framework. His work starts by the definition of novel NB molecular subtypes and naturally evolves towards the description of subtype specific genetic/epigenetic alterations and its associated phonotypical effects. Prior to his work in Maris Lab, he obtained his PhD by the Molecular Biology Department at the Autonoma University of Madrid working in Dr. Alfonso Valencia’s Lab at Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) and held a postdoctoral position at Dr. Andrea Califano Lab in the System Biology Department at Columbia University.
